A bridge repair project in Tama County will require the closure of U.S. Highway 63 between Hudson and Traer for the next three months, starting Monday (July 25, 2016).

According to Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) officials, crews are scheduled to replace the deck of a bridge that spans Twelve Mile Creek, south of Buckingham. Until the work is complete, traffic will be routed around the project using the following detour:

  • Black Hawk County Road D-52
  • Iowa Highway 21
  • Iowa Highway 8

IDOT officials said the project is expected to be completed by Oct. 21, weather permitting.

Also starting on Monday, concrete patching work will require nighttime lane closures on a portion of U.S. Highway 218 in Waterloo. For more information on the 218 project, CLICK HERE.
