Two Waterloo Men Charged In Shoe Collection Theft

Two Waterloo men are facing multiple charges for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of Air Jordan shoes from a home in the city over the weekend.

Police responded to the burglary just before 11 p.m. on Friday (April 2, 2016). The victim told officers that dozens of Nike Air Jordan shoes were taken from the residence.

During the investigation, police learned that David Sailor, 30, and Michael Carter, 24, were involved in the crime. Investigators then executed a search warrant at 1306 W. Donald St., No. 311. During the search, police said they located several dozen pairs of Air Jordan shoes.

Officers later located Sailor and Carter at International House of Pancakes (IHOP) in Waterloo. They were arrested and transported to the station for questioning.

During the investigation, police said they found Carter to be in possession of several fake $100 bills.

Carter and Sailor were both charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree theft -- both felonies -- and third-offense possession of marijuana. Additionally, Carter faces eight felony counts of forgery. Both men were booked into the Black Hawk County jail.
