Two people were taken to the hospital following a three-vehicle crash at a busy Cedar Falls intersection Thursday afternoon (April 21, 2016).

The Iowa State Patrol said Jerry Hanson, 71, of Waterloo, and Sheila Dall, 74, of Dike, were injured in the accident. Both were taken to a Waterloo hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

According to the state patrol accident report, Hanson and Dall were in a car that was stopped in traffic at the signaled intersection. Their vehicle was rear-ended by a straight truck, driven by Joseph Fry, 28, of Elk Run Heights. The impact pushed Hanson's and Dall's car into a pick-up, driven by James Platt, 88, of Cedar Falls. Fry and Platt both escaped injury.

Thursday's crash occurred on Iowa Highway 58 at the intersection of E. Viking Road. just after 1:30 p.m.
