Two Hurt in NE Iowa Accident, Both Cars Totaled

The Fayette County Sheriff is investigating a weekend accident that put two people in the hospital.

It happened just before 2:30pm Saturday, on "G" Avenue, just north of Aurora. 65 year old Carol Dettbarn of Aurora attempted to make a left turn into a driveway, but drove into the path of an oncoming car driven by 75 year old Martin Holten of Cedar Rapids, and the cars collided.

Both vehicles were totaled; both drivers were taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. There were no condition reports.

The accident remains under investigation.
