Two people from northeast Iowa were injured when their motorcycle collided with a deer in Chickasaw County Sunday evening (Oct. 28, 2018).

The Iowa State Patrol said Jerry Dahly, 64, and his passenger, Sharon Rowe, 63, both of Riceville, were thrown from the motorcycle after the deer entered the roadway. According to a crash report, Dahly tried to stop, but the cycle went out-of-control.

Dahly was taken by air ambulance to Mayo Hospital in Rochester, Minn., and Rowe was transported to the hospital in New Hampton. No condition report was available.

Troopers responded to the crash shortly after 7 PM. The accident happened on 110th Street near Fayette Ave., just west of Alta Vista.
