876 drivers competed at the 2015 IMCA Super Nationals, and twelve area drivers proved to be better than most.

The 33rd running of the IMCA Super Nationals took place on September 7-12, 2015. The world's largest dirt track event is a grueling six-day dirt track event. An all-time record 876 cars competed at what is advertised as "America’s Racin’ Vacation". This is the eighth straight year 800 or more cars have converged on the Boone Speedway (Boone, IA). Drivers from all across the country come together for this week-long dirt track racing event, and this year even featured a few drivers from Canada and one from Australia.

Six different division are featured during the Super Nationals. 278 IMCA Modified drivers entered. In the IMCA Stock Car division, 193 drivers entered. Other division totals were 167 Northern SportMods, 141 Hobby Stocks and a record 64 Sport Compacts, up one from 2013. The IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series visited the speedway for a one-day show to help push the grand total to the record setting 876 cars.

Just making the final 30-33 cars in each class is quite an accomplishment, and 10 area drivers earned their spot in the final cut. Plus, three area drivers were honored as champions among champions.

JD Auringer (Waterloo, IA) and Brian Irvine (Oelwein, IA) raced their way to be one of the final 33 drivers to compete for the IMCA Modified Super Nationals championship. Irvine finished 10th out of 278 drivers, and Auringer finished 18th.

After a week of racing Norman Chesmore (Rowley, IA) and Lynn Panos (Calmar, IA) become one of the final 30 IMCA Stock Car competitors. In total, 193 drivers entered this division. Panos was the highest finisher from North East Iowa with a 5th place finish. Chesmore ended his Super Nationals run with a 23rd place finish.

Jared VanDeest (Holland, IA) ended the week of racing as the 6th best IMCA SportMod driver in a field of 167 competitors.

Leah Wroten (Independence, IA) was among 141 IMCA Hobby Stock racers. Wroten drove to a 20th place finish Saturday night.

Jeff AIkey (Cedar Falls, IA) topped 33 car field when the IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series came to the Boone Speedway. Tyler Droste (Waterloo, IA) finished 4th. Sean Johnson (Independence, IA) was 21st, and Greg Kastli (Waterloo, IA) drove to a 22nd place finish.
