Tractor and Trailer Stolen, Other Thefts in Rural Areas

Chickasaw County authorities are investigating some recent thefts from the rural areas, including one in which a tractor and trailer were stolen.

David Teepe of rural Fredericksburg reported Saturday that a tractor and trailer were missing from his property.

The tractor, a 5020 Allis, is a one-of-a-kind model, and also has sentimental value, as it was purchased in 1977 by Teepe's father, who has since passed away.

Teepe no longer lives at the property, because his house burned down last year. He speculates that the theft happened sometime last week; it appears the tractor was loaded onto the trailer, and both items were taken.

According to a Facebook post from the Chickasaw County Sheriff, there have been other thefts reported from farm properties over the last several weeks. He advises rural residents to watch out for their neighbor and report any suspicious activity. Also, if possible, install security cameras and other measures at your property.
