Two people were injured in a three-vehicle accident at a busy Cedar Falls intersection Thursday afternoon (May 5, 2016).

A car was rear-ended by a pick-up truck while sitting in traffic on Iowa Highway 58 at the signaled intersection with Viking Road, the Iowa State Patrol said. The impact of the crash pushed the car into a straight-truck, which was also waiting for the traffic light to change.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the car's driver and a female passenger were both hurt in the crash. Jerry Hanson, 71, of Waterloo, and Sheila Dall, 74, of Dike, were transported to a Waterloo hospital to be treated for what state troopers said were non life-threatening injuries.

No one other injuries were reported in the accident.
