Three Bucks Named To Northwoods League All-Star Team
The Northwoods League has announced that three Waterloo Bucks have been named to the 2015 All-Star Game. They will participate in the 2015 NWL All-Star Game that will be played at Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. on Tuesday, July 21 at 7:05 p.m.
Those players are Brian Drapeau, Zach McKinstry, and Luke Stratman.
Drapeau, a junior, is a right-handed pitcher from Long Island University-Brooklyn and originally from Livingston, New Jersey. He is 5-2 with the Bucks and sports a 2.19 ERA.
Drapeau leads the league in strikeouts with 51, games started at 10, and innings pitched at 57.2.
McKinstry, a utility player, made the All-Star team as a shortstop. The freshman from Central Michigan University is originally from Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He is s hitting .297 in 39 games for Waterloo.
In 138 at bats, McKinstry has five doubles, three triples, and three home runs to go along with 19 RBI.
Stratman, a third baseman from Lamar Community College, owns a .292 average to go along with a team leading 20 RBI.
A native of Morrison, Colorado, Stratman has seven doubles, three home runs, and 10 stolen bases on the season.
Both the North Division and South Division NWL All-Star teams were announced by the league Monday afternoon.
Monday night, the Bucks defeated the Alexandria Blue Anchors, 10-5, at Riverfront Stadium.
They conclude their six-game home stand today with a 12:05 p.m. (CT) start time against Alexandria. It’s the first-ever Senior and Kids Day at the ballpark for the noon game.
