The Waterloo Black Hawks Prepare for Strenuous September
The Waterloo Black Hawks have a very busy schedule in store for them. The Hawks will play seven exhibition games, including two at Young Arena, between Labor Day and their first regular season match-up on September 24th.
To prepare for the formal preseason schedule, the team will also host an inter-squad scrimmage at 5 PM on Saturday, August 20th at Young Arena. Fans are invited to attend at no charge and are encouraged to brin school supplies, which will be donated to local elementary students.
Waterloo's first meeting against an outside opponent will be Tuesday, September 6th at home against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. The Hawks will also conclude the exhibition slated on home ice, hosting the Des Moines Buccaneers on Saturday, September 17th. Both preseason home games will begin at 7:05 PM.
Season ticket holders are admitted to home preseason games as part of their ticket package. Individual tickets for the September home tilts with Cedar Rapids and Des Moines will be $7 for any seat. Exhibition tickets will go on sale Monday, August 29th.
Between home dates, the Hawks will meet the Sioux City Musketeers, Des Moines, and the Tri-City Storm during the United States hockey League Fall Classic West, in addition to road games against Cedar Rapids and Des Moines.

The Black Hawks’ first regular season home game will be October 8th versus the Lincoln Stars. Individual regular season tickets for all 2016/17 contests at Young Arena will be available for the first time on Thursday, September 1st.
