The Fact Is...

13 years ago we felt the impact of hatred..  Where were you?

I was on the air doing a mornings show at our sister station 104.5 KDAT in Cedar Rapids.  I was walking down the hall when one of the morning guys from the Country station told me I should get back to the studio and find a way to watch the news "because a plane flew into the Twin Towers in NYC."   I thought to myself, "that was a dumb move."  I remember feeling stupid for thinking that a few minutes later when another plane flew into the other tower and as it became obvious what was going on.

We sit here 13 years later with the images of the plane flying into the building, the buildings collapsing and the brave men and women who rushed into those buildings to save lives.  The 2,958 people that lost their lives in that horrific attack will and should never be forgotten.  Innocent bystanders in a global fight for what people think is right. The fight for power, the fight to bring down what others consider evil.

To all of the Vets that fought the subsequent war.  To all of our military personnel still fighting.  To our military families who lost a son, a daughter, a father, mother, sister, cousin.  To our First Responders who continue to run into burning buildings and into the face of danger to save the lives of Joe Public.  We thank you!

Strength comes in the face of adversity.  We are stronger now.
