The Fact Is…

If you are in Haiti and you eat fresh fruit or vegetables, you’re probably consuming human poop!

That’s right, Haiti uses it’s public restrooms to collect human waste to be turned into fertilizer to use on their crops.  It’s really a great idea, considering their sewage system is a bit lacking and most toilet waste heads straight for open waterways.  That means a Haitian’s poop and pee end up in clean water and consumed by residents.

So, Haiti utilizes the massive amounts of human waste from public toilets, converts it into fertilizer and spreads it over their crops.  It also helps with soil degradation.

I hope they get rid of the corn kernels before they spread it.  Ewwwww!
