The Fact Is...it's been a couple of weeks since I gave you your last Fact.  So, let's resume our conversation.

The Fact Is...

Being a POW is horrible.  According to the book "Voices from the Korean War", being an American POW in North Korea was also very boring.  So, to break up the monotony of the daily routine, Lieutenant John Thorton (USN) used his imagination.  Every day at the POW camp they would have the morning role call.  Everyone would line up accordingly, even Thorton.  The difference was that Thorton would ride his imaginary motorcycle to the role call.  According to the book, Thorton would ride up on his "motorcycle", noises and all, make a couple of laps around the lined up POW's and then park his "motorcycle" and join the role call.

This made the North Koreans mad, so they ended up having a meeting with Thorton to tell him they were taking his "motorcycle" away because it was against the camp's rules and regulations.

Now THAT'S funny.
