The Fact Is...

Even the Amish need a vacation.  Where do the Amish folk go on vacation and what do they do there?  The answer may surprise you.

There are approximately 200,000 Amish people living in the U.S.  Almost 8,000 live right here in Iowa. They work hard, follow strict rules and rarely wear deodorant.  So, when it's time to take a break for some R-N-R, where do they go?

Well, according to Miki Meek of the New York Times, and Miki was with them, over 5,000 Amish folk jump onto a charter bus and head to Pinecraft, FL.  Yep, they go where there is a LOT of old people.  In fact, they call it the "Amish Las Vegas".  Since the real Las Vegas is called "Sin City",  you can just imagine how crazy these Amish get when they head to Pinecraft.  They go NUTS!  They play shuffleboard, they use cell phones and...this is the biggie...they enjoy electricity at their rental homes. WHAT!? Jesus is pissed now.

The good thing is, they keep their beards, if they are married, they wear the same clothes and they still don't wear deodorant, which is a travesty since they are baking in the sun in Florida.
