The first year of our 'Stuff the Bus' campaign to gather school supplies for local kids in need was a huge success thanks to you. We ever had a special donation from members of the Waterloo Police Department.

Over the past few weeks, we asked the Cedar Valley to donate school supplies to help local children in need to start school this August with all of the school supplies they need. You did not disappoint.

What a fantastic day the final day turned out to be. Your generosity made us proud of our community, and we are positive it will also put smiles on the faces of several area children in need when they start school in a few weeks.

On Thursday, the Waterloo Broadcasting staff rode a bus, provided by Dolly's Party Bus, all across the Cedar Valley to gather your school supply donations, and when we arrived at the Boys & Girls Club of the Cedar Valley to drop drop all of those great gifts, we were treated to an extra special surprise.

After making stops at Waterloo Golf Headquarters, Crossroads Mall, Lost Island Water Park, and Ranchero Saddle & Western Wear Store, the bus made our final stop at the Boys & Girls Club of the Cedar Valley. That's when our surprise arrived courtesy of the Waterloo Police Department and the Waterloo Police Protective Association.

Thanks to a volunteer effort spearheaded by WPD officer Chris Roberts, the Waterloo Police Protective Association arrived to make a $500 donation to our Stuff the Bus campaign.

All of us at Waterloo Broadcasting are humbled by the generosity the Cedar Valley residents showed during the inaugural year of our Stuff the Bus campaign.

"Just about every kid that comes here could use help with school supplies," CEO for the Boys & Girls Club of the Cedar Valley said when we dropped off the school supplies. "With these donations, we are going to be able to help tons of families, so thank you so much."

THANK YOU!
