A Waterloo church sustained some damage when it was struck by a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on Sunday (Oct. 18, 2015).

According to Waterloo police, a male juvenile was cited for leaving the scene of an accident. Officers said the teenager was driving the SUV when it struck the New Beginnings Wesleyan Church at 205 Hammond Ave. around 3:30 p.m.

The collision shattered a church window when the rear of the vehicle struck a wall of the worship center. A dollar estimate on the extent of the damage was not available.

The accident remains under investigation by Waterloo police. No injuries were reported.
