A student at a Northeast Iowa school has been arrested for allegedly sending a threat to a school employee over social media.

18 year old William Carter, who goes to school at MFL/Mar-Mac, is charged with harassment.

Carter is accused of threatening a school administrator at MFL/Mar-Mac. Carter also allegedly used Facebook to post an earlier statement, that was violent in nature and contained foul language, but did not constitute a threat.

The school facilities in Monona were not put on lockdown, however officers from the Clayton County Sheriff and Monona Police were present outside the building Monday morning and early afternoon.

Carter has recently moved to nearby Southwest Wisconsin.
