Southern Accent. Offensive?

I love a good southern accent. I think it's endearing and makes me feel comfortable in a conversation. Unless they are screaming at me. But, some feeble-minded people find the southern accent offensive. Offensive? 

Chad Prather is a Youtube sensation. He posts his rants online and flocks of "Tubers" watch what he has to say. He's intelligent and well spoken. He strings conversations together without having to prepare much, because he's smart and has a great understanding of the world around him.

Someone told Chad that his accent is offensive. HAHAHA!!! Chad's response, EPIC.

Do you think southern accents are offensive? How about Minnesota accents?
