2016 has been a difficult year on our men and women in blue. Not only on the men and women of the police force, but also on their families. Being a police officer is a tireless and often times a thankless job. But it is also one of the most noble jobs a person could have. It takes a very brave person to be willing to put their life on the line every day for complete strangers.

We know there have been many controversial police shootings involving civilians. There is always a few bad apples in EVERY group. This isn't an excuse, it's a fact of life. Painting one whole group with one broad stroke is not only unfair but also narrow minded. The good cops far outweigh the bad and that's why the targeting of police officers is so appalling for many of us.

From time to time we like to check in on Chad Prather, a TV personality and internet star from Texas. His video blogs have scored thousands of views on the world wide web, bringing smiles, laughter and a whole lot of food for thought. His latest video addresses what the typical police officer goes though on a daily basis, and why they deserve  our respect, admiration, and most of all, compassion.

Police fatalities have already jumped 10% according to figures released by The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, which is a a nationwide clearinghouse of information and statistics on law enforcement  Our nation has lost a total of 69 police since January 1st, 2016. 34 of them were killed by gunfire.

Since the first known line-of-duty death in 1791, more than 20,000 U.S. law enforcement officers have made the ultimate sacrifice.
