Goals while shorthanded, on the power play, and at even strength during the second period boosted the Sioux City Musketeers to a 4-1 win against the Waterloo Black Hawks at Young Arena on Friday, December 12, 2014.

Following a scoreless first 20 minutes, the Musketeers potted three goals during the first seven minutes of the second. A miscommunication set up a shorthanded breakaway for Adam Johnson, and the Sioux City veteran was able to stickhandle before lifting a shot under the crossbar at 1:47. The visitors stuck for their next tally during a power play at 5:37 when Sam Kurker’s shot from the left point found its way through traffic. Just over a minute later, the Musketeers added one more, a redirection in transition by Alex Rodriguez on a pass by Robert Carpenter.

Goals in the third period also came in quick succession. With 2:45 remaining, Larry Jungwirth put back the rebound of an Ethan Spaxman shot, ending Collin Olson’s bid for a shutout. However, 1:05 later, Joel Janatuinen scored on a second opportunity at the other end of the ice. Olson claimed the win with 30 saves.
