Short Chase Adds to Charges in Oelwein

A Fayette County man faces drug and other charges after a traffic stop and brief pursuit in Oelwein.

Just before 8 p.m. Saturday (April 22), Oelwein Police pulled over a car in the 700 block of East Charles Street.

The driver, 24 year old Arturo Araujo, of West Union, attempted to flee on foot, however he was taken into custody in the 10 block of 7th Avenue SE after a short foot chase.

Araujo is being charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance-2nd Offense, Interference with Official Acts, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
