Sheriff’s Office Warns Of Burglaries

The Black Hawk County Sheriff is requesting the public's assistance and warning them of recent burglaries.

In the last week two residential burglaries have occurred in the outlying areas of Black Hawk County.  Suspects are known to come to the door of a residence and if no one answers the residence was entered.  If the door is answered the person asks for directions to a road and then leaves the area.

If this happens to you please get the license plate number of the vehicle to assist law enforcement in the event of a residential burglary.

Any suspicious subjects or vehicles - people that seem to be out of place - please get a good description of them and the vehicle they have along with a license plate number.  Immediately notify the law enforcement agency responsible for your area.

The Sherrif's says they would much rather check someone out and find out if they do belong in a certain area than have people not call in and a residence is burglarized.
