Black Hawk County Sheriff Deputies responded to a report of a shooting in Hudson late Saturday Night.

Just after 10:00 P.M. on Saturday Night, (May 31st), Black Hawk County Sheriff Deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a residence just southeast of Hudson.

According to the official release from the Sheriff's Department, four subjects had been coyote hunting and returned to the residence.  One of the subjects pointed his shotgun in the direction of another subject and the gun discharged.

18 year old Alex Lee Bratten of Jesup was shot in the right shoulder and transported to an area hospital with serious injuries and was then transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.  According to the Sheriff's office the injuries are not life threatening.

The case remains under investigation.  Black Hawk County Sheriffs were assisted by the Hudson Police and Fire Departments.
