Sheriff Responds to Traffic Accidents in Fayette County

The Fayette County Sheriff reports a traffic accident involving a deer.


It happened just after 9pm Tuesday (March 14) on Canoe Road, south of Clermont. 26 year old Steven McAllen of Elgin was driving south when he struck a deer that was attempting to cross the road. No one was injured, but McAllen’s 2011 Chevrolet Silverado sustained major damages.

No one was injured in a 2-vehicle accident south of Hawkeye.

It happened shortly after 4pm Wednesday (March 15) at the intersection of “R” Avenue and 150th Street. 42 year old Johnathan Harriman of Hawkeye was stopped at the intersection, when he backed up to avoid a collision with a semi, and ran into a vehicle driven by 29 year old Shaina Boehmer of Waterloo. No one was injured, and there was minor damage to the vehicles.
