Authorities have released the names of the two people found dead of gunshot wounds, east of Decorah in Winneshiek County.
Shortly after 6:30pm Sunday (Oct. 16), the Winneshiek County Sheriff began getting phone calls, reporting multiple shots fired in a mobile home court on the south end of Freeport, an unincorporated village near Decorah.

A responding deputy found the bodies of 2 people with gunshot wounds, at a residence on Dogwood Road.

An investigation determined the two were 55 year old Craig Freilinger and 41 year old Sarah Szabo, both of Decorah.

According to the sheriff, the two were recently separated boyfriend/girlfriend.

Both were taken in for an autopsy.

The sheriff notes that authorities are not currently looking for any other suspects at this time, and there is no reason to believe that the public is in danger.
