It’s been a whirlwind 24 hours for DC fans, what with the full-length Suicide Squad trailer barreling into the public view during its big debut in the CW’s Dawn of the Justice League special last night. But while fans tuned into the hypeathon were left in a daze by the high-energy spot, they might have missed a preview just as hotly anticipated, teasing a DC property just as major. Wonder Woman has long been the hurdle that DC’s film branch could never quite jump (or rather, had no interest in jumping, or claimed was unjumpable due to short legs, or some other such analogous bull-tonky), but they’ve resolved to change that with a supporting Wonder Woman role in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman and a full-on solo picture to follow.

And now, they can prove it. Last night’s special also pulled the curtain back on the first official footage from Wonder Woman. In the video embedded above, — which, fair warning, contains graphic images of Kevin Smith’s face — stars Gal Gadot and Chris Pine discuss the finer points of the Wonder Woman character along with director Patty Jenkins.

The swatches of footage they’ve offered up here give audiences a taste of the film’s time-hopping structure, showing as this legendary warrior princess dominates her way through centuries of history, always protecting those in need. Even in flashes, the clip shows off plenty of tantalizing action, with the woman born Diana Prince laying waste to attackers with her trademark shield. No glimpses of the iconic lasso of truth, but the clip does include Gadot saying “heestory,” so that’s pretty much an even trade. For now, at least.

Wonder Woman opens in theaters on June 23, 2017.
