The 2016 Red Kettle Campaign for The Salvation Army of Waterloo/Cedar Falls begins Friday, November 11th with something new.

With more and more people carrying credit and debit cards instead of cash, The Salvation Army of Waterloo/Cedar Falls is introducing an easy, guilt-free way to bypass red kettles and still boost donations at Christmas.

Season Pass Pins in $20, $50 and $100 increments and are good for the entire Christmas season. A limited number is available at any Hy-Vee in Waterloo or Cedar Falls.

“The Season Pass Pin is a great alternative to digging for change every time you pass by a Salvation Army Red Kettle – offering a convenient, no-hassle way to support The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign,” said Major Harold Poff, Corps Officer.

Proceeds from the Season Pass pins will go toward this year’s Red Kettle Campaign goal of $683,000.00 which accounts for 40% of The Salvation Army’s annual budget. Last year The Salvation Army aided over 3,100 Cedar Valley families, served 139,102 free meals, provided 24,662 nights of emergency shelter and supplied nearly 13,000 Christmas gifts to needy families in Black Hawk County.

The Salvation Army of Waterloo/Cedar Falls is also seeking volunteer bell ringers to help fill nearly 7,000 volunteer hours through Christmas Eve. Those interested can sign up at www.Kettles2016.volunteerlocal.com.
