Cedar Falls Industrial Park Roads To Be Resurfaced

Several road repair projects are getting underway this week in the Cedar Falls Industrial Park.

To minimize the impact on businesses, contract crews will be working at night to repair multiple streets in the commerce section of the city that's located between Main Street (Iowa Highway 58) and Hudson Road in southwest Cedar Falls.

Beginning Monday, June 1st, crews will start the resurfacing process on the following streets:

• Chancellor Drive from Technology Pkwy to Commerce Drive.
• Commerce Drive from Chancellor Drive to 510 Commerce Drive.
• Nordic Drive from Viking Road to 5600 Nordic Drive.
• Savannah Park Road from Chancellor Drive to Nordic Drive.

In order for the contractor to resurface the above listed street, Chancellor and Commerce Drives will require a full closure, but the roads will not be closed on the same night.

Nordic Drive and Savannah Park Road will both have three stages each in order to maintain access to the adjacent businesses. These closures will last approximately 10 hours on each of three nights from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Depending on the weather, Cedar Falls city officials said the closure nights will be June 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The projects are scheduled to be completed as follows:

• June 1st – Commerce Drive, Stage 3 of Nordic Drive, and Stage 2 of Savannah Park Road.
• June 2nd – Chancellor Drive, Stage 2 of Nordic Drive, and Stage 3 of Savannah Park Drive.
• June 3rd – Stage 1 of Nordic Drive and Stage 1 of Savannah Park Road.

The road construction projects are among 16 awarded to ASPRO Inc. of Waterloo for 2015. Funding for this project is provided by the one-percent Local Option Sales Tax. Work on other Cedar Falls roads began in late April and will continue throughout the summer.
