Rescue workers were called out Saturday night to a lake in Waterloo, on the report that a kayak carrying a man and his young son, had capsized.

Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire Rescue received the call at about 7:45 PM on Saturday (July 7, 2018). They were summoned to KOA Bamboo Ridge Campground/Lost Island Waterpark resort on Hess Road.

An unidentified man and his toddler-son, were riding in a kayak on the lake at the campground, when it tipped over. The man and his son were not wearing life jackets.

The two were helped by a couple in a water bike, and another group in a paddle boat.

The father and son were not injured, however one of the people helping them was taken to a local hospital for an unknown injury.
