Floyd County authorities may have solved several recent burglaries with the arrest of a local man.

Sheriff's deputies were contacted about a theft in the 3200 block of 1st St. in the town of Colwell on Thursday (July 7, 2016). After looking into the matter, they arrested Daniel Connerley, 39, of Floyd, and charged him with fourth-degree theft.

As a result of that investigation, Floyd County sheriff officials and Charles City police executed a search warrant at a home in the 500 block of 16th Ave., looking for items associated with the theft.

During that search, officers found other items reported stolen in previous burglaries in Charles City and Floyd County. Numerous tools and construction equipment were seized.

Property that was seized during the search has been linked to five burglaries in Charles City and two break-ins in Floyd County.

The investigation continues, and more charges are possible.
