Ramones Lego Set Could Become a Real Thing

Ramones are the subject of a new Lego Ideas project, which could go into production if it wins enough votes from the public.

The 450-piece set, created by fan Han Sbricksteen, includes five Lego figures in a backstreet setting. “Join Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee and Tommy or Marky, and play with them the fastest and shortest songs,” the creator said on his Lego Ideas page. “This project is homage to one of the most influential bands in punk rock history and represents the two first classic band formations.”

Drummers Tommy and Marky are included so that buyers can recreate their favorite lineup on the set, which includes a wall, a metal fence and a wooden fence. Also included are recreations of the band’s first seven studio albums and a microphone on stand, guitar, bass, drum kit and sticks, amplifier, boombox, hot dog, hamburger, soda, baseball bat and ball, newspaper and trashcan.

You can see the full set below.

Sbricksteen notes that the model, which is 10″ wide, 5″ deep and around 4″ high, would be “great for display or role-playing scenes.” He’s also created a Queen project, based on the band’s “I Want to Break Free” video.

The Lego Ideas project allows fans to submit their own concepts for models. If enough votes are gathered, the Lego company will consider putting the model on sale. Having gained more than 100 votes already, the Ramones model now has 400 days to aim for 10,000 supporting votes. Last year, a Lego model of the Beatles’ iconic yellow submarine went on sale.

Over the years, fans have created Lego-centered videos featuring AC/DC in concert, Motorhead‘s “Ace of Spades” and “Dancing in the Street” as performed by David Bowie and Mick Jagger.
