An Elkader man will be spending his next five years in prison, for allegedly threatening a business woman, and breaking some of her inventory.

26 year old Andrew Cole had pleaded guilty to going armed with intent. He was sentenced last week to five years in prison.

Cole was arrested by Elkader Police on August 4th, following a disturbance on West Bridge Street in Elkader.

After getting into a verbal altercation with a store owner, Cole went to his nearby apartment and returned with a home-made club. He then used the club to destroy several planters in front of the business, then brandishing it at the owner, while threatening her life.

The Clayton County Attorney assisted the Elkader Police Department in the case.
