Police Report Arrests over Holiday Weekend

The Oelwein Police Department reports some holiday weekend arrests.
At about 7:30pm Sunday (July 3), 44 year old David Watt of Oelwein was arrested after an incident in the ten block of 5th Street NW. Watt was charged with simple assault.

Also on Sunday, 37 year old Charles Wood of Oelwein was taken into custody for eluding and theft-2nd degree. That arrest was the result of an incident in the ten block of 6th Street NW. More charges are pending, following further investigation.

Shortly after 11am Saturday (July 2), 34 year old Christopher Kearns of Oelwein was cited after a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Frederick. The charge was driving while suspended.

And Oelwein Police are looking into a vandalism incident. A criminal mischief complaint was called into police Sunday night, from the 100 block of 3rd Avenue NW.
