A Waterloo man is facing multiple charges after police responded to a report of shots fired in the city Saturday night (Sept. 26, 2015).

Officers received multiple reports of shots fired in the 500 block of Western Ave. around 10:40 p.m., with several subjects running toward the 1100 block of West 5th St.

According to police, officers made contact with a group of people involved in a disturbance at 1122 West 5th St. Authorities said they used a taser on Diamond Jackson, 18, of Waterloo, when he resisted arrest for allegedly interfering with the investigation. While searching Jackson, police said they found a stolen gun in his pants.

Jackson was charged with interference with official acts involving a firearm (Class-D Felony), interference with official acts causing injury (Serious Misdemeanor), and carrying weapons (Aggravated Misdemeanor). He was booked into the Black Hawk County Jail.

Waterloo police secured the home at 1122 West 5th St. and eventually executed a warrant to search the property. Officers said they found a stolen .38 special revolver inside the house, along with various ammunition and drug paraphernalia inside.
