A mid-morning, single vehicle, accident on Sunday (11/1/15) injured the driver.

Around 10:30 Sunday morning ( 11/1/15), Black Hawk County Sheriff Deputies responded to a single motor vehicle accident on Dunkerton Road near Schenk Road. At the scene, Deputies noticed a white 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix in the north ditch.

An investigation revealed that the vehicle was driven by Stephen Michael Hanan, 40, from Shell Rock. Mr. Hanan was traveling eastbound on W. Dunkerton Road when he crossed the centerline. He entered the north ditch where he struck a box culvert. The vehicle skidded across the culvert and started to roll as it struck the opposite side. The vehicle then rolled several times.

Mr. Hanan suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital

Deputies were assisted by Dunkerton Fire/Ambulance and Mid State Towing.
