Police have arrested four people on weapons, drug and robbery charges in connection with a shooting that injured a man in Waterloo on Saturday (July 22, 2017).

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Fairview Ave. and W. Parker St. and found that Daejon Putman, 20, of Waterloo, had sustained injuries from being shot. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police said Putnam is expected to survive.

During the investigation, police arrested the following four people:

  • Angela Hamer, 41 -- charged with possession of marijuana, possession of prescription pills, and assault while displaying a weapon.
  • Allan Hale, 40 -- charged with possession of marijuana with intent, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of prescription pills with intent to deliver, first-degree robbery, going armed with intent, and possession of weapon by felon.
  • Taveon Hale, 19 -- charged with willful injury, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, first-degree robbery, possession of prescription pills with intent to deliver, and going armed with intent.
  • Aviana Smith, 16 -- charged with second-degree robbery as an adult.

All four subjects were booked into the Black Hawk County Jail in Waterloo.
