No. 11 Iowa State (13-3, 3-1 Big 12) scored an 86-81 victory over No. 9 Kansas (14-3, 3-1 Big 12) on Saturday, January 17, 2015 in Hilton Coliseum.

With just under 10 minutes left in the game, it was just a two-point game. Then ISU went on a 16-4 second-half run. The Cyclones were able to hang on to claim its third win over a ranked opponent this season.

ISU received a balanced effort in the win with six players in double figure scoring, led by Naz Long’s 20 points. Long was 3-of-6 from 3-point range, all in the second half. Georges Niang added 15 points and Monte’ Morris chipped in with11 points and 10 dimes to record his first career double-double.

Jameel McKay was outstanding from off the bench, posting 11 points and three blocks.

Next Up: Iowa State now prepare for a home court match-up against Kansas State Tuesday night. Tipoff is set for 6:00 PM-CT on ESPN2.
