NE Iowa Train Fatal Identified

We now know the name of a Dubuque man who died after being struck by a train.

23 year old Samuel Bettcher was walking near the Key City Recycling center on Dodge Street in Dubuque at about 9:30pm Saturday.

According to authorities, Bettcher came around a corner, stepped onto the train tracks, and was hit by the Canadian National Rail train.

Bettcher was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not indicated if the incident was accidental, or intentional. It remains under investigation.
