One Northeast Iowa School District is going to be looking for a new superintendent.

Dan Diercks, the current superintendent at the Oelwein Community School District, has announced that he will soon be stepping down.

No reason was given for his leaving; Diercks has been at Oelwein since July of 2015.

Diercks has told the Oelwein school board that his resignation will be effective on July 30, 2017.

A timeline to fill the superintendent position has not yet been developed.
