A Northeast Iowa man could be spending ten years in prison for the alleged sexual assault of a minor.

Last Wednesday (Oct. 28) the Fayette County Sheriff completed an investigation of 38 year old Scott Franzen of St. Lucas, who is accused of sexually abusing a minor in April of 2015.

Franzen was arrested without further incident and charged with sexual abuse in the third degree. He is being held in the Fayette County Jail pending an initial court appearance.

According to the Fayette County Sheriff, the investigation is ongoing, and more charges could be filed.

If Franzen is convicted of the charge, he could be sentenced to ten years in prison, and be required to register on the state sex offender registry for 10 years.
