NE Iowa Emergency Vehicle Strikes Deer
Emergency vehicles are not immune from accidents involving deer.
The Fayette County Sheriff reports that this accident happened at about 2am Sunday, on county road V68, 3 miles west of Westgate. A Life Line Emergency E456 Ambulance driven by 48 year old Jeffrey Mason of Sumner, was responding to an emergency call, when he struck a deer in the road.
No one was injured, but there was $4,000 in damage to the vehicle.

A Calmar motorist escaped injury, but her vehicle was damaged when she collided with a deer, south of Waucoma. This accident occurred shortly after 10pm Friday on Fayette County road "W" Avenue. 20 year old Desiree Tollefson was driving north, when a deer ran out onto the road, and was struck by her car. There were no injuries, but there was about $2,000 in damage.
