Authorities have now released the names of the three motorcyclists who collided in Fayette County, while participating in the "Memorial Ride and Drive" awareness rally for Lyric and Elizabeth over the weekend.


The accident happened at the intersection of Iowa Highway 3 and "J" Avenue north of Stanley around 1 p.m. Saturday (July 15, 2017).

Fayette County Sheriff officials discovered three motorcycles collided and crashed to the ground.

Two riders were taken to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein. The most seriously injured biker -- Mitchel Tyler, 67, of Waterloo -- was air lifted to University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, where he remains in serious condition.

The other injured rider -- Jerry McNamee, 63, of Waterloo -- sustained minor injuries. He was treated and released.

The third cyclist, identified as Brian Sampson, 56, of Waterloo, was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
