According to sources, a white woman who teaches African studies and heads a local NAACP chapter in eastern Washington has reportedly been posing as black for years. The sources are her mom and dad.

Rachel Dolezal's estranged parents have told the media that she's white. Dolezal, who's also dealing with allegations of hate-crime fraud, told The Spokesman-Review in Spokane that the question of her race "is not as easy as it seems," while her mom countered, "It’s very sad that Rachel has not just been herself. Her effectiveness in the causes of the African-American community would have been so much more viable, and she would have been more effective if she had just been honest with everybody.”

The NAACP announced Sunday that it has postponed today's meeting at which Dolezal was expected to more thoroughly address the question of her race and future with the organization.

A former classmate of Dolezal's at Howard University (a predominately black college it must be noted) has said that she was definitely white back then, with "straight, blonde hair." When this classmate saw the most recent photos of Dolezal, "she looked about three shades darker."

Watch Rachel on one of their local TV newscasts and decide for yourself.
