Two rural Hawkeye men, arrested for illegal drugs last week, now face more charges.

49 year old Daryl Jones, and 31 year old Jonathan Lortie were taken into custody on Friday (April 8) after the Fayette County Sheriff conducted a search of their rural Hawkeye residence. Deputies found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and firearms.
Lortie and Jones were initially charged with possession of methamphetamine-third offense, possession and control of a firearm and/or ammunition as a felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both men were on parole at the time for other drug counts, and on Tuesday (April 12) the Fayette County Sheriff served warrants on Jones and Lortie.

Jones had two warrants for possession of a controlled substance 3rd offense, with bail set at $5,000.

 

Lortie had one warrant for a parole violation and is being held without bond.

Both men continue to be held in the Fayette County jail waiting an appearance before a magistrate.
