Authorities are investigating a shooting that injured a man in Waterloo Monday night (March 27, 2017).

Waterloo police said they were notified that a man, seeking treatment for a gunshot wound, had arrived at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in a private vehicle around 9:20 p.m. Authorities identified the victim as Regis Johnson, 25.

Captain Dave Mohlis, a Waterloo police spokesman, said Johnson suffered a single gunshot wound to the face. The victim was conscious and alert when he arrived at the hospital.

Johnson was later transported to University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, where he's listed in stable condition.

Mohlis said the shooting occurred at 639 Wallgate Ave. in Waterloo. No other information was released.
