A rural Waverly man faces charges after he allegedly pointed a gun at a person who was serving him civil papers.

The incident happened Friday at a rural Waverly home.

According to the Bremer County Sheriff, a civil process server was trying to serve civil papers, when he was confronted by 57 year old Bruce Alan Johnston, who was pointing a gun at him.

Bremer County authorities looked into the matter, and arrested Johnston on a charge of Assault-Going Armed with Intent.

Johnston was taken to the Bremer County jail in Waverly; he was later released after posting $5,000 bond.
