Man Charged with DUI After Crashing into Waterloo House

A Waterloo man faces charges for crashing his Mercedes into a house.

The accident happened at about 10:30pm Friday, at 401 Reed Street in Waterloo.

According to authorities, 20 year old Saul Moreno was driving north on Reed Street, when his 2008 Mercedes 350 went off the road and collided with the house.

In the process, a gas meter was also damaged.

No one was injured.

Moreno apparently told police he had drank five beers before the accident; a breathalyzer test registered a blood alcohol level of .164, over twice the legal limit to drive.

Moreno is being charged with 1st offense OWI, failing to obey a stop sign, and failure to maintain control.
