A former Waverly resident faces theft and forgery charges in connection with incidents that spanned nearly a decade.


On Wednesday (April 12) the Bremer County Sheriff arrested 66 year old Thomas Hunt of Plymouth, Minnesota, formerly of Waverly.

The joint investigation between the Bremer County Sheriff and Plymouth, Minnesota police began in May of last year.

Hunt is accused of stealing money from a trust, and funds from farm land rental in Bremer County, between November of 2007 and this year (2017).

Hunt is being charged with 1 Count of First Degree Theft, which is a class "C" felony, and 7 counts of Forgery. 6 of those counts are Class "D" felonies and one is an aggravated misdemeanor.

Hunt was released from jail after he posted bond.
