An Eastern Iowa man faces a list of charges, after leading authorities on a chase.

The incident began shortly after 11am Monday (Oct. 17), when the Linn County Sheriff's Office attempted to serve a warrant on Spencer Lee Horak, for a probation violation.

But as deputies approached his residence in Central City, Horak sped away in a vehicle, with deputies in pursuit.

After a short chase in the outskirts of Central City, Horak jumped out of the car when it was still in reverse, and took off on foot.

Some nearby construction workers who witnessed what was going on, ran over to the car and stopped it.

Officers chased Horak on foot; he was found a few minutes later, hiding under some brush in a wooded area.

Horak was taken to the Linn County jail on charges of Speeding, Attempt to Elude, 2 counts of Failing to Obey a Traffic device, Driving with a Restricted License, and No Insurance, as well as the parole violation warrant.
