Main Street Waterloo is holding its annual family-friendly downtown Halloween event on Saturday (Oct. 31, 2015).

Activities run from 9 a.m. to noon at the RiverLoop Expo Plaza at 327 W. Park Ave., in the same area where the downtown Waterloo Farmers Market takes place. They will include crafts, games, free toys and candy for the kids.

Everyone is welcome to enjoy free orange drink from McDonalds and popcorn, and try their hand at guessing the weight of a giant pumpkin. Children can bring their own trick-or-treat bags and pick up maps of participating downtown merchants who will be providing free candy from 10:00 am until Noon.

This safe and fun event is open to the public. Halloween with Main Street Waterloo is free, although a local photography studio is charging $3 to takes pictures of children in costume.

The event, sponsored by the University of Iowa Community Credit Union (UICCU) and McDonald's, celebrates the final Saturday of the 2015 downtown Farmers Market.
